The NFL Mobile app from Verizon Wireless gives Verizon subscribers mobile access to on-demand NFL coverage and live access to the NFL Network. Whether you're looking for Fantasy Football tools or anywhere access to NFL events, the NFL Mobile app is worth checking out.

Getting Started

NFL Mobile is free to download for Verizon wireless subscribers. To download the app, simply access the App Store on iOS or Android devices.

If you'd rather download the app through a wired internet connection, you can first download the app to your computer and then synch it with your mobile device.

Once you have NFL Mobile on your device, you'll need to turn off WIFI in order to load the app. This allows NFL Mobile to validate that you're a Verizon Wireless subscriber, therefore giving you free access. In addition, you'll need to enable location services. You'll have the option to sign in to your Facebook account through NFL Mobile. This lets you access the social section of the app, where you can post to different message boards and talk with your friends about the latest NFL gossip and news.

Accessing NFL Coverage

Now that your device has been validated, go ahead and turn WIFI back on. This will give you better video streaming results and faster loading times.

The app is divided into several sections for accessing different types of coverage.

Along the bottom-half of the screen, you'll see the 'Media' section with all the latest headlines and videos that relate to the NFL. These include everything from game highlights to polls and top-notch sports reporting. The top-half of the screen features a ticker of various videos to watch on-demand, including interviews and re-plays.

At the very bottom of the screen, you'll see a TV icon labeled 'live'. This gives you access to the NFL Network channel as it appears on television. You can access it any time, anywhere, but to access this feature you'll need to be a Premium NFL Mobile subscriber. Along the bottom of the live feed, you'll find icons that link to the latest scores, information, and headlines about relevant broadcasts at any given time. Every user gets to test this feature for free before committing. Due to the many commercials aired on the channel, users may just decide that the app's other on-demand media is sufficient coverage.

The Videos section of the menu lets you access on-demand video as divided into four sections: shows, highlights, events, and sponsorship (which just links to advertisements). Coverage from many shows is available to basic users, as well as a comprehensive list of recent league highlights.

Other NFL Mobile Menu Features

Once you've scanned through these initial eye-catching features, check out the menu icon in the top-right corner of the screen. This is the heart of the app's organization, and will let you easily find just the information you're looking for through a user-friendly interface.

The scores and schedule section brings up a list of recently-aired NFL games and the final scores for each match. The teams section lets you check up on the season stats for all your favorite teams for both offense and defense. This feature is great for all you Fantasy Football players that want quick links to valuable info about player statistics. In addition, there's a Fantasy Football section that lets you log-in to your Fantasy Football account, and also gives you access to research tools such as injuries, projections, and trends.

NFL Mobile Premium

When you first access NFL Mobile, you'll be prompted to upgrade to a Premium account.

NFL Mobile Premium is $5 per month, and can be canceled at any time. With this upgrade, you'll have access to live NFL Redzone, NBC Sunday Night Football, ESPN Monday Night Football, NFLN Thursday Night Football, and the 24/7NFL Network. You can always take the app for a spin before deciding to upgrade.
