Some people ask me to provide images for testing openmoko on HTC wizard.
kernel + haret : open-moko-kernel-wizard.tar.bz2
rootfs : openmoko-devel-image-glibc.rootfs.tar.bz2
Your SD card should have 2 partitions. First is FAT and second must be ext2 partition.
1. extract kernel + haret to FAT partition of SD card
2. extract rootfs to ext2 partition
3. run haret.exe and wait some time (you should see splash screen)
4. enjoy
Marek

Thank You!
Can i use all of OpenMoko features? (phone, wifi, etc)
Hi, currently not. Driver for wifi for wizard is not implemented yet. Gsm driver exist but needs to be adapted for openmoko. Also audio is not working yet. So you should pe patient and help if you want
.
Hi.This kernel and openmoko work for oxygen? Thanx
Hi.Work openmoko wizzard porting for oxygen?
Hi,
kernel image is for HTC wizard but Openmoko is general.
You can try to use it in Oxygen (I don’t test yet).
Marek
It’s tested my but not work.
Hello. marek want to know what stage is the HTC Oxygen Linux? what news do you have in the project. Thanks much.
Hi George, currently I’m woking on audio driver for HTC Oxygen (Wizard). I hope first release will be available end of month. Just check news on page
Thanks for you interest.
Marek
Marek,
I’m really interested in putting openmoko on my HTC Wizard. I know you are working on the audio driver currently. How long do you think till all drivers GSM, Wi-Fi, etc are functioning? Thanks.
J
Hi J,
GSM is currently working and tested. You can dial, connect to network via ppp …. I’m putting all my resources now to make audio driver working asap. Then I think it could became full featured phone. Concerning wifi driver I think nobody is working on it. Just chip is known and nothing more. But when audio will be finished I can take a look. I’m also interested about normal open source phone
. If you would like to participate take a look to IRC channel on FreeNode (#linwizard) or just mail me.
Good luck,
Marek
Hi.Marek what news linux? news project.Thanx
Hi, still in progress in audio. I’ll focus this week mostly on this and hope will see some progress. It’s really difficult to understand something without any documentation
. Stay tuned.
Can this work on HTC Touch 3G ??? Are there any ports for it ???
Hi, HTC touch has completely different CPU so you need a precompiled kernel image or compile by your own .
OpenMoko image should work.
good luck,
Marek
Marek. Please posted kernel modifications supported HW keybboard command.Thanx
Hi George, I’ll create a new branch in repo and try to put modifications concerning HTC Oxygen (with keyboard) here. Then Ican compile kernel with keys support for you. What you would like to test?
Hello. Please posted your kernel to test. Thanx
My like tested opie and gpe2 linux.Tested Android for Wox using kernel for gizzard .
hi.marek want to know what stage is this project. something news? thanks. You managed to finish the kernel? want to test. please put a link to test.
Hi George, sorry for latest response but I take some days off from PC. I’ll try to put all changes which I have currently to new branch for oxygen and then compile kernel for you. I’ll send you an email when it will be finished but I suppose this week. Marek
Hi.Marek expect to forward the email to test the kernel. Please tell me what state sr learn this?thanx
Firstly, thanks for the great work! It really works, but…
I have two questions:
1. GSM does not work for me (it always says REGISTERING)
2. How can I set up USB networking under Windows XP? I tried using this solution http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/NeoRndis.inf (replacing the VID&PID identifiers with correct ones) but the driver either failed to start or failed to bring the interface up (Yes it works for me with my NEO FREERUNNER).
Hi,
1. GSM driver is not properly working it’s still in development phase.
2. RNDIS driver is disbled in kernel package provided so it shouldn’t work
For more question just ask at freenode #linwizard
